• What is KDChi's official tagline/motto?
Leading With Integrity, United Through Service.
It incorporates the Four Values on which we were founded: Unity, Honesty, Integrity and Leadership.

• What are the basics of KDChi: mascot, colors, and so forth?
Our mascot is the penguin, our flower is the pink rose, and our jewel is the emerald. We were founded on April 6, 1987, at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, TX. For more info see the link dedicated to getting you aquainted with who we are.

• Do I have to be Latina to be part of KDChi?
No. Although KDChi is a Latina-founded sorority, our sisterhood is made up of women of all ethnic backgrounds.

• How do I join KDChi on my campus?
At the beginning of every semester, there is a period of time where all organizations on campus recruit new members. Learn more about the requirements to be part of our sisterhood here, and feel free to either approach any sister you see wearing a KDChi shirt, visit their respective chapter's website, or send an e-mail to our Vice President of Public Affairs, and she will provide you with contact information.

• What if KDChi is not on my campus--can I still join?
If KDChi is not at your institution, you may elect to charter a colony of KDChi there. Click here to learn about how to begin (or charter) a colony of KDChi on your campus.

• I am no longer a college student. Can I still join?
Yes--KDChi has an intake process dedicated to the graduate student or professional woman. If you may be interested, please visit the Graduate Intake page for more information.

• What are some great reasons for joining KDChi?
Where to begin... lifelong friendships, a family away from home, support through one of the most challenging and exciting times of your life, and a dedication to serving the communities in which you live. • Do I have to stroll or step to be part of the sisterhood?
No chapter or individual is required to do either. Most sisters do it because they want to be involved and it's a way to be active, have fun, and show unity.

• Does KDChi haze?
No, KDChi does not haze. There are specific policies we adhere to as an organization so that we may be compliant with NALFO. KDChi believes in building leaders and community servants, and we believe that hazing is NOT an effective way to foster leadership and service among our sisters. • How do I explain KDChi to my family when sororities may have negative stereotypes associated with them?
Unfortunately, the negative actions of few often tarnish the good. We encourage you to visit the Facts about Greek section below to learn more about the positive work associated with Greek members.   • 85 percent of Fortune 500 executives are members of Greek-letter organizations.
  • 25 United States Presidents have belonged to Greek-letter organizations.
  • Fraternities and sororities have maintained a higher grade point average than the all-campus average at most universities.
  • A U.S. Government study shows that over 70% of Greek members graduate, while under 50% of non-Greeks graduate.
