KDChi Beta Alum hit by a drunk driver in TX and is recovering

On Saturday 41 year old Suzanna Vasquez Gonzales was driving southbound on Hwy 16 near Poteet, TX at 4:30 in the afternoon. A 64-year old suspected drunk driver was headed north in the wrong lane and slammed into her vehicle head-on.

On Saturday 41 year old Suzanna Vasquez Gonzales was driving southbound on Hwy 16 near Poteet, TX at 4:30 in the afternoon. A 64-year old suspected drunk driver was headed north in the wrong lane and slammed into her vehicle head-on.
Gonzales sustained severe injuries and was life flighted to a hospital. She has a broken arm, leg, and fractures on her pelvis and 5 ribs. She had a lacerated liver and spleen, but those are controlled and she is now upgraded to stable condition and is resting according to her husband Sibliano Gonzales. Visitation is limited but rest assured she is doing well considering and is just tired" shares her husband, "We are thankful and appreciated of your thoughts, prayers and phone calls."

Suzanna excellend at KDChi's Beta Chapter at Texas A&M University where she studied computer science and lives in Colorado with her husband and son Phillip. She chartered KDChi on her campus in 1991.
Update 6-8-11: Suzanna is still in ICU in stable condition. She just celebreated her 42nd Birthday on Tuesday June 7th and has had a few visitors. Although tired, more surgeries are being planned to repair her broken limbs and she and the family are doing well despite the circumstances. Their family is so greatful to all who've sent e-mails, called and to KDChi for sending baloons to her room to brighten her spirits. Please continue to keep her in your good thoughts and prayers.
