Kappa Delta Chi Sorority Inc. Announces Spring 2011 Community Service Accomplishments
For Immediate Release:

(Lubbock, TX) Kappa Delta Chi Sorority Inc. is so proud of our sisters who are making a difference in the world by lending a hand to people in need. During the Spring 2011 semester our KDChi Chapters came together to contribute 20,512 hours of service. By choosing to become part of KDChi, our sisters chose a path of serving others and we as a national organization are so proud to see the passion as evident in the number of community service hours completed every semester. Thank you to all of our chapters that go above and beyond by completing their required service hours and selflessly choosing to give many more while balancing a full load of course work, leading or being part of other organizations and working their way through college.

Our National Chapter Programming Office Vanessa Trevino is so proud of our ladies and is excited to see the hard work the chapters have done and will continue to do and says she expects nothing less than the best from sisters and emphasizes the importance of spending quality service time on issues facing their community. "We hope chapters work together to identify this issue and set forth goal(s) they would like to accomplish either within the semester or year. All chapters should be purposeful in their service."

KDChi would like to congratulate our Delta Chapter at the University of Arizona for performing the highest amount of service hours during the spring 2011 with their 1,786 hours. It's an amazing accomplishment to be able to complete the expected amount of hours and surpass the chapter goals. Huge kudos to the Delta Chapter Community Service Officer, Karen Quintana, for motivating the chapter at succeeding their Service hour goal. President Danielle Trujillo says, "We worked hard to balance out everything, and there was times when it became difficult but with the support and help of all the sisters pulling together as one, we pulled off an amazing semester". Types of projects the Delta sisters were involved in included: Race for the Cure, Relay for Life, Gear Up, and worked very closely withtheir local philanthropy Project Yes (which involved their annual carnival).

Many chapters also worked hard at achieving an amazing amount of service hours. Congratulations to the Beta Chapter at Texas A&M for achieving 1,245 Hours, Theta Chapter at the University of Houston with their 1,215 hours, Pi Chapter at the University of Texas at Austin with 1,145 hours and Alpha Sigma of Florida State University with 1,014, just to name a few. Together our KDChi chapters completed 20,512 hours of service! It goes without saying that we receive much more then we put in and as we continue in this new semester we hope to keep the momentum and service goals high. Thank you sisters for showing by example how much you care for others and your community.
