KDChi's Southwestern sisters honor civil rights leader, Cesar Chavez

Kappa Delta Chi Sisters at Southwestern University gathered with Latinos Unidos Organization on March 31 to celebrate the life and contribution of civil rights legend Cesar E. Chavez.

Mr. Chavez was a Mexican-American farm worker who helped co-found the National Farm Workers Association, which later became the United Farm Workers of America.

Cristina Tzintzun, project director of the Austin-based Workers Defense Project, gave the keynote address at the event, encouraging students to keep Mr. Chavez's legacy alive by standing up for the civil rights of immigrant and migrant workers being abused by employers.
