Earth Day Beach Cleanup is sponsored by Texas Adopt-A-Beach 2023. We are meeting on Galveston Island near the Seawall. This event will take place rain or shine, so please come prepared. If weather is threatening, cancellation may ensue. I, Rebecca, will check in between 8:30-8:45am. Our pre-service group photo will take place at 8:45am at Menard Park. Our post-service group photo will take place on the beach, prior to going to our post-service Social event. Kids are welcome as this is a community effort; however, they must be accompanied by a parent/guardian at all times. Location: Menard Park, 2222 28th Street. What do I wear? Please wear close-toe, sturdy shoes, a hat/cap, high SPF sunscreen, sunglasses, bug repellant, and/or heavy duty gloves (recommended, not required). Also, bring lots of water to keep hydrated. Do I need to bring supplies? No, All cleanup materials will be provided, as well as a data card and pencils to document the type of trash being cleaned.
