Joy Marie King - Director of Stewardship

Joy King is the Chief Advancement Officer at Be The Match – NMDP, an organization providing life-saving stem cells to patients with blood cancers and blood disorders with an annual revenue of $490M and assets of $370M. She is also Executive Director of Be The Match Foundation, a subsidiary of Be The Match-NMDP. Ms. King is responsible for leading the foundation staff and its board of directors to significantly grow philanthropic revenue production to advance the life-saving mission of Be The Match. The foundation advances and expands access to cellular therapy, provides support for patients and their families experiencing transplant, and advances life-saving research. In her time with Be The Match – NMDP she has secured the first of many seven figure gifts in the history of the organization, more than doubled annual revenue and has launched a $100M comprehensive campaign.

With more than 20 years of experience in health care advocacy, fundraising and operational leadership roles Ms. King led the expansion of international operations including securing philanthropic investments to support the expansion. Prior to joining Be The Match, NMDP Ms. King was Senior Vice President of Operations, for the Midwest division of the American Cancer Society overseeing 250 staff members with an annual budget of $32M. She developed new revenue sources for the organization and was recognized annually for record breaking suc
