CONVENTION FAQ'S

I am a member who graduates in May, and plans to attend the convention, under what classification does she register?
Since you are graduating this May, you may register as an Alumna as long as you are in good standing.

I might be traveling with a non KDChi member. Is there an extra cost to having them stay in the room with me? Does the registration fee cover hotel rooms for guests?
No. Your registration only covers you. Please keep in mind there will be an added charge detailed on the registration form.
The only other room option we will take care of is semi-private, which is an additional $100 for double occupancy vs. quad occupancy. If you would prefer a private room for you and your guest, you will need to make arrangements directly through the Crowne Plaza .

I will be traveling with a non KDChi member and was curious to what activities they may join us in during the convention?  What are some other ways to occupy their time while I am attending the different sessions?
Guests of KDChi members may attend Open events including the Career Expo, Service Luncheon and Emerald Gala on Saturday. Convention attendees will be provided with information at registration on available activities throughout the weekend. Additional information will be provided on a pamphlet in your goodie bag.

What will the weather be like in Houston?
During July,  Houston is very warm. Please dress in cool light garments when possible. Keep yourself hydrated to avoid heat spells.

I live in the Houston area and do not want to stay at the hotel.  Will there be a discounted rate if I do not stay at the hotel?  Unfortunately, we cannot offer a discounted rate. The same registration fees apply to everyone. Alumni and undergraduates pay the same fee.
